Fiddle Weekend

The Land o’ Burns Fiddle Weekend is a weekend-long retreat for fiddle lovers to come along to learn from some of the most accomplished and talented fiddlers in Scotland. Immerse yourself in the music and learn amongst other keen fiddle players.

You’ll receive at least 15 hours of fiddle tuition in intimate group workshops; lunch on each of the 3 days; tuition from all 4 fiddle tutors; tea & coffee available everyday; a ticket into the very special and intimate Tutors’ Concert and access to the evening sessions that will occur every evening.

Tutors’ Concert

On the Saturday evening, there will be an intimate Tutors’ Concert that, as a Weekend Participant, you’ll gain special access. A limited number of tickets will be made available to the general public. So if you’ve friends and family that you’d like to bring along, they’ll be able to purchase tickets here, when they’re on sale.

Evening Sessions

Each night of Fiddle Weekend, we have evening sessions. This year on the Friday and Saturday night we will host these in our Festival Club at the Abbotsford Hotel in Ayr, and once the weekend has officially ended, a survivors’ session will take place in a local hostelry. This is an opportunity to spend down-time with your new friends and the fiddle tutors, playing some of the tunes you’ve learned over the weekend as well as introducing some of your favourite traditional songs.

Fiddle Workshop Group Assignment

We will assign you to a tutor group (intermediate/advanced) based on the level you choose when you register. If you feel you would like to switch once you’ve arranged, that can be arranged no problem!

Food & Drink

Lunch will be provided during the Fiddle Weekend between your fiddle workshops. We will send out a dietary requirement form previous to the event.

Dinners are not provided in the ticket cost; however, we’ve got some great local restaurant recommendations!
